Student Services Fees


The University of Otago is required by Government regulation to ensure a rangeof support services are available to students. These are funded through thecharging of the Student Services Fee.The Student Services Fee is compulsory; however, there are certain exemptionsthat may apply. Please refer to the University of Otago website for moreinformation on the exemptions and for a more detailed overview of the StudentServices Fee. Student Services Fee pageThe Student Services Fee for students enrolled at the Dunedin campus iscalculated on the number of EFTS in an academic year a student is enrolled in,based on $8.79 per 0.01 EFTS or $879.00 per 1 EFTS. Payment of fees


The University issues your invoice via the ‘My Account’ page in eVision withall the information you need to organise payment. Once your fees have beenpaid and you’ve completed course enrolment, you’re officially enrolled.Fees should be paid, or student loan arrangements finalised, before you beginyour studies.Note: Tuition fee invoices are displayed in a student’s eVision portal, theUniversity of Otago does not post printed invoices to students.

Tuition Fee Due Dates

Payment of International Tuition Fees


The University of Otago uses the Western Union Business Solutions paymentportal, GlobalPay, for you to pay your tuition, accommodation and insurancefees. You can pay from your bank account with a telegraphic transfer, ordomestic transfer.GlobalPay now accepts credit card as one of the payment options for certaincurrencies. The Credit Card option is only applicable to students that need toconvert their home currency to NZD. How to obtain a tuition fee receipt for student visa purposes


Tuition fee receipts are not automatically generated. To request a tuition feereceipt for student visa application purposes, contact the appropriate emailaddress:New students: Email student.finance@otago.ac.nzReturning students: Email student.visa@otago.ac.nzTuition fee receipts cannot be issued until your payment has been receivedinto the University of Otago bank account. Due to this we encourage newstudents to make payment well in advance of their student visa applicationdeadline to allow the Revenue Management Office and the Student Visa Officetime to supply a receipt.

Tuition fees for International PhD students


Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students are eligible to pay tuition fees at theNew Zealand domestic level. International PhD students must be resident in NewZealand during their study, apart from approved temporary absences overseasfor the purposes of doctoral research, to be classified as domestic fee payingstudents.Dependants of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students will be treated as NewZealand domestic students for the purposes of fee payment at primary(approximately 5–12 years of age) and secondary (approximately 13–18 years ofage) schools.

Obasanjo is an alumnus of theuniversity.NOUN, as it is fondly called, is a Federal Open and Distance Learning (ODL)institution. When it was open, it was the only one of its kind in the entireWest African sub-region. It is accorded the title of being Nigeria’s largesttertiary institution in terms of student numbers and spread. It is the onlyuniversity in Nigeria that has an out campus in almost every state of thefederation, including the Federal Capital Territory. At take off alone in2001, student enrollment was 32,400.Between that time and 2011, the student population had increased to 57,759,and that was seven years ago. Today, that number has far surpassed 100,000. Atthe tine, the University operated from its administrative headquarters inurban Victoria Island area of Lagos state. Then in 2016, the headquarters wasmoved by ten Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vincent Tenebe. With 75 study centersscattered across the nation and 50 programmes in its stead, it is difficult todeny the influence the university has had on the Nigerian educational system.The University is what you can refer to as Convenience Schooling, allowingprofessionals and gainfully employed people to also study with a properlystructured calendar prepared by the school. Online Course Fees


A separate fee is used to absorb the cost of any lab kits needed for lab-basedonline courses.
